The list of modules is in our standard presentation order, but each class is a unique experience, and the presentation order may change on the fly based on the overall needs of the students. Also, due to time constraints, some material may be shortened.

Prerequisites
Whether you're new to SharePoint administration, or a seasoned SPS 2003 administrator, we suggest you have a familiarity with SharePoint Products and Technologies and general Windows Server 2003 administration duties. We recommend you come to this class with any requirements documentation you may have, so you can be more involved in our daily round table discussions!
Student requirements
You will need to bring a laptop configured properly for this class, which means that you need these things installed:
- Laptop hardware
- CPU: Minimum 1GHz processor (and, boy, do we mean MINIMUM!).
- Memory: Minimum 1GB RAM, 2 or more GB HIGHLY recommended!
- Hard drive: Minimum 20GB free space after OS installation
- DVD drive or USB 2.0 port for in-class file transfer
- Software details (select from "Virtual Environment" or "Native
Environment")
- Virtual Environment
- Host OS: Windows XP Pro or Windows Vista (any flavor, really) installed and patched with *ALL* the latest Windows Updates patches. This means: re-run Windows Update after each reboot to be SURE you have all Critical and Important patches installed.
- Virtual PC product: use your favorite. Your instructor prefers (and will be using) Virtual PC 2007 (free download)
- Guest OS: Windows Server 2003 Standard or higher, installed and patched with ALL the latest Windows Updates patches. This means: re-run Windows Update after each reboot to be SURE you have all Critical and Important / Recommended patches installed.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Bring your guest OS installation media!
- Microsoft Office Word 2007 installed ON THE GUEST (trial available)
- Microsoft Office Excel 2007 installed ON THE GUEST (trial available)
- Acrobat Reader 7.0 or later installed ON THE HOST
- Native Environment
- System OS: Windows Server 2003 Standard or higher, installed and patched with ALL the latest Windows Updates patches. This means: re-run Windows Update after each reboot to be SURE you have all Critical and Important/ Recommended patches installed.

- We’ll distribute the MOSS 2007 Enterprise trial in the class, no need to bring it unless you want to!
